Countless brands profit off the word. Marble throws its weight behind it. We use bio-based materials for our frames, bio-based Zeiss eco-lenses, and low-impact packaging made from recycled materials. Our mission is to reduce waste in the fly-fishing industry. That’s why our supply chain is lean and our margins are honest. Our pilot launch is helping fund our line recycling program, so that eventually, all the materials in our frames will come from fly-line collected at our partners’ shops.
On paper, fly fishing is an angling technique. The most common technique is bait fishing, in which a fisherman – or, an angler – attaches a lure or weight to the end of a line in hopes of catching a fish. Unlike bait fishing, fly anglers use lightweight flies and thick plastic lines instead of lures and weights to typically target species who feed on insects in rivers (salmon, trout etc.).
For many, fly fishing is seen as a form of expression, adventure or tranquility. It demands precise visibility into the water as you typically “wade” (i.e., walk into the river) and actively 'hunt' fish. The casting technique is also rather dangerous. If practiced inappropriately, you might wind up with a hook in your eye. As a result, fly fishing glasses have to be robust yet light, since most anglers spend hours on the water. That’s why our lenses are engineered for clarity, polarization, and all-day wear.
We are currently partnered with Keep Fish Wet to align our content, packaging and messaging with their science-backed approaches to sustainable fish handling. We plan to partner with more NGOs in the future to align on impact initiatives. We currently are partnered with 30+ fly shops to reduce waste and share stories that inspire sustainable action. Every product you buy fuels that mission.
We use state of the art Carl Zeiss optics from their polarized sustainable polyamide line — offering high-contrast optics on the water which are extremely lightweight and feature a 50% reduction in carbon emissions during production.
Both Morning Rise and Trout Belly Flash share the same light amber base tint, which enhances contrast and makes it easier to track fish and read the water. The difference is in the lens finish:
Morning Rise: a clean amber lens without a mirror finish — ideal if you prefer a more subtle look and direct amber view.
Trout Belly Flash: the same amber lens topped with a special yet subtle mirror coating without obstructing and altering the natural amber view beneath.
Both lenses deliver identical core optics, it mainly comes down to whether you want a non-mirrored or mirrored style on the water.
Don't see why not... while our glasses are optimized for fishing environments, Marble glasses perform well for hiking, boating, travel, and everyday wear. Anywhere where weight and clarity.
Rule 1: Rinse First. Wipe Second.
Rule 2: Mild dish soap + lukewarm water, nothing harsh.
Rule 3: Only use the recycled microfiber cloth/pouch.
Rule 4: Don’t bake them (car dash = bad).
They're light as air — easy to forget they’re on your face (or hat). Don’t cartwheel-test them.
You can find select stockists listed on our site, or request a pilot pair if you’re a fly shop or guide service. We also offer a 30-day return window so you can try them risk-free.
Fly shops and outfitters in our program collect used fly line from customers. We handle logistics and downstream processing, keeping that material out of landfills and in circulation for future upcycling and recycling.
Our CHASM model is not made out of recycled fly-line just yet, as we are building out our R&D / logistics to upcycle the materials we have collected. Our frames and lenses are made with bio-based lenses and frames to offer a more environmentally friendly alternative to the premium optics available on the market while our packaging has been designed to be recyclable and low impact. We're actively working to integrate recycled fishing line into future gear.
We’re prototyping lens-replacement services, creating new materials out of fly fishing line, and partnering with conservation groups to measure impact from gear sales and recycling efforts.
It’s our crew of creators, anglers, and environmental storytellers. Ambassadors get early access to gear, affiliate tools, and the chance to co-create content that supports Marble’s mission.
