Our founders early days casting dries for brookies in Newfoundland and his pursuit of trout in the border waters of Québec, Vermont, and upstate New York are what gave life to Marble Fishing. Long days spent hunting for that dream “trophy trout” that kept getting away turned into a lifelong passion for fly fishing, adventure and and a deep respect for our planet.
That chase shaped our purpose: to build a brand on the premise that anglers shouldn't have to choose between technical performance, accessible pricing, and gear that actually reflects the places they fish.
Our mantra, "Don't Lose Your Marbles," is a nod to the timeless angler tradition of leaving sunglasses on every rock, roof, and riverbed. Deeper down, it's a reminder of what time on the water actually does for people: it brings you back to yourself, cuts the noise, and reminds you why the outdoors matters in the first place.
Why Eyewear, Why Now?
Eyewear is one of the most essential, personal pieces of gear a fly angler owns. It’s how we read water, spot fish, and stay sharp in changing conditions. We see eyewear as a perfect catalyst. A product that can invite connection to adventure, fuel awareness, community and offers a tangible way to be part of something bigger. Everyone wearing Marble is part of a new current—in and out of the river.
Why the name Marble?
Marble is named after the Marble Trout: a rare, elusive, and almost mythical species. Marble Trout represent an anglers endless pursuit of the "hard-to-reach" and their comeback story reminds us of the importance of protecting the fragile ecosystems we get to explore. The name is also a nod to one of the rivers which shaped our founder's early days on the water.
Casting Forward
Fly fishing is shifting. A new generation of anglers care just as much about the health of the water as the fish in it. We polled the community and it was evident that the gear industry is disconnected from clear ways to give back. Marble exists to bridge that gap. To unite purpose with product. To create gear that matters, and unite a community that makes impact together.
